Privacy policy

Your privacy matters. FlowVisual was built to model and simulate processes — not to collect your data.

FlowVisual is a local-first app for macOS and Windows. This policy applies to every distribution channel alike: directly from balane.app, from the Mac App Store and from the Microsoft Store.

1. What Data Does the App Collect?

Locally Stored Data:

• →Process documents: Your .flow files containing nodes, edges, actors, volumes, timings and costs — stored wherever you choose in the file system
• →App settings: Currency, theme, working days, simulation defaults and recently opened documents, in your operating system's user profile (UserDefaults on macOS)

Data that is NOT collected:

• →No user accounts or registration
• →No analytics, no tracking
• →No crash reports to external servers
• →No upload of your process documents
• →No model content sent to external servers
• →No location data
• →No usage statistics shared with third parties
• →No advertising IDs

2. Where is Data Stored?

Exclusively on your device

• →File system: All .flow documents, wherever you save them
• →User profile: App settings
• →No cloud synchronization by FlowVisual itself. If you save .flow files into iCloud Drive, OneDrive or another cloud folder, they stay within your own Apple ID or cloud provider.
• →No external servers for your content
• →No database on our side

3. Permissions

Requested Permissions:

• →No special permissions required — FlowVisual only touches the files you open via the Open/Save dialog

4. Data Transmission

Your process models do not leave your device. Neither .flow files nor model content nor simulation results are transmitted to the provider or to any third party.

The app opens outgoing connections in two cases only:

• →Licence activation and validation: the Software transmits the licence key to Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC) as Merchant of Record in order to verify and manage the activation. No process data is transmitted in the course of this. The legal basis is performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For the purchase, Lemon Squeezy is the controller and their privacy terms apply.

5. Updates

The build obtained directly from balane.app checks periodically whether a new version is available and fetches a file from balane.app to do so; this transmits your IP address to our hosting provider. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure, up-to-date installations (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The version distributed through the Microsoft Store contains no update check; updates are delivered by the Store. The build obtained from the Mac App Store receives its updates from Apple.

6. No analytics, no telemetry

The app contains no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting libraries. No usage data is collected. Your models stay local, there is no tracking and no advertising.
