FlowVisual

Simulate processes, find the bottleneck, prove the fix in euros.

FlowVisual is a desktop simulator for process consultants: model a process from elements, watch it run live, let a Monte-Carlo stress test expose the bottleneck, and prove the improvement in € and time via what-if — as a branded PDF for your proposal or business case. Ranges instead of false precision (5–10 min, not 7.5), probabilities instead of gut feel, every € figure with a P10–P90 band. Runs locally, no cloud, no sign-up — files on your own drive. Windows & macOS.

Most tools let you draw a process. FlowVisual lets you run it.

A flowchart just sits there. A real process breathes — work piles up at the slow step, the queue grows, the cost climbs. FlowVisual is a desktop simulator that makes that visible: you model the process from a few building blocks, hit play, and watch the workload flow through it in real time. Where it gets tight, the node fills up and turns from teal to red. That red node is your bottleneck — and now you can prove what fixing it is worth.

Your process, running live — fill is workload, colour is utilisation; the red node is the bottleneck

Find the breaking point — with probability, not gut feel

One click runs a Monte-Carlo stress test: hundreds of simulated days with realistic demand swings and peak spikes. Instead of one average that lies, you get the honest picture — how often each step is the binding constraint, its P90 utilisation, the spread of cycle time. The step that breaks first is ranked first. No more arguing about where the problem is.

The stress test ranks the bottleneck by probability, with P90 utilisation and a cycle-time band

Prove the fix in euros — with a confidence band

Change a number — add a person, automate a step, cut a service time — and the model rebalances instantly. Then see the payoff: Before vs. After in cycle time and in euros per year, every figure carried with a P10–P90 band so you never hand a CFO a false-precision number. That's the difference between "trust me" and "here's the math."

Load by role — the underwriter is the bottleneck at 377%, every other role has slack

Model the whole landscape, not just one box

Real work doesn't live in a single diagram. Link processes so one feeds the next — when an upstream bottleneck throttles output, you watch the downstream process starve, live. Drill into any step to model its sub-process. The depth is there when you need it; the view stays clean when you don't.

Ranges, not false precision

A step doesn't take exactly 7.5 minutes — it takes 5 to 10. FlowVisual lets you say that, and the simulation carries that uncertainty all the way to the result. Every value can be tagged by where it came from, so it's always clear how much weight a number can hold. That honesty is what makes the output defensible in the room.

The deliverable does the selling

Export a branded PDF — your logo, the customer's letterhead, the € business case, the before/after, the process documentation. What your client keeps is sober, precise and decision-grade. The lively app is for you; the PDF is for them.

Fully local. No cloud, no sign-up.

Your process models never leave your machine. No account, no upload, no AI at runtime — files live on your own drive, local or a shared SharePoint folder. Nothing to clear with IT.

Who it's for

Process and management consultants, in-house optimisers and operations leads — anyone who has to walk into a room and defend "this change is worth €X" in front of people who will push back.

How it works

  1. Model your process from elements — or start from the built-in example.
  2. Run the stress test; find the bottleneck.
  3. Try a fix; watch it rebalance.
  4. Export the before/after business case as a branded PDF.

Start with a 14-day free trial, then an annual subscription for 3 seats — cancel anytime. Windows & macOS.

FlowVisual – License Agreement (EULA)

Last updated: 2026-06-25 Provider: Balane GmbH · support@balane.tech

This agreement governs the use of the desktop application "FlowVisual" for macOS and Windows (the "Software"). By purchasing, installing or using the Software you agree to these terms.

The offering is directed exclusively at businesses (entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 German Civil Code), legal entities under public law and special funds under public law. It is not directed at consumers (§ 13 German Civil Code). By purchasing, you confirm that you are acting in the exercise of your commercial or independent professional activity.

1. Sale and contracting party

The purchase of the Software is processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC) acting as Merchant of Record. The purchase contract (payment, VAT, invoice, withdrawal/refund) is therefore concluded with Lemon Squeezy and governed by their buyer terms. This agreement governs solely the license to use the Software granted by the provider (Balane GmbH).

2. Scope of license

You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software for your own business purposes, tied to an annual subscription. The license is unlocked via a license key and remains valid for the duration of the active subscription. The number of devices (seats) that may be activated concurrently follows the activation limit stated at purchase.

You may not:

  • decompile, reverse-engineer or disassemble the Software, except where permitted by mandatory law;
  • rent, lease, resell or sublicense it;
  • share the license key with third parties;
  • modify it or create derivative works.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3. Processing and confidentiality

FlowVisual runs fully locally: your process models and input data are processed solely on your device and stored in files you choose (e.g. on a local or shared drive). There is no transmission, storage or processing of your process data by the provider or any third party. No AI services are used at runtime. Accordingly, no data processing on behalf of the user within the meaning of the GDPR takes place with respect to your process data; a data processing agreement (DPA) is not required.

To validate the license, the Software transmits solely the license key to Lemon Squeezy (license validation). No process data is transmitted in this process.

4. No warranty / limitation of liability

FlowVisual is a simulation and analysis tool. It models processes from the assumptions, estimates and ranges entered by the user, computes them using stochastic methods (including Monte-Carlo simulation) and returns metrics, bottleneck indications, ranges and € projections as decision support. The Software:

  • does not guarantee the correctness, accuracy or likelihood of occurrence of the computed results, savings or forecasts;
  • does not constitute business, tax or legal advice;
  • does not replace the user's own review and professional judgment.

Results depend substantially on the data and assumptions entered by the user. Responsibility for decisions based on them remains entirely with the user. Liability of the provider for decisions made on the basis of the Software, and for any resulting damage, is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Otherwise, the provider is liable without limitation only for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence the provider is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation and limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.

5. Term and termination

The Software is offered as an annual subscription preceded by a 14-day free trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription converts into a paid annual subscription and renews automatically for further one-year terms unless cancelled by the end of the current period. Management and cancellation are available at any time via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. When the subscription ends, the license ends.

6. Final provisions

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
