PRIVACY POLICY - TextDeck

Your privacy matters. TextDeck was built to efficiently manage your AI prompts — not to collect your data.

1. What Data Does the App Collect?

Locally Stored Data:

  • Prompt Templates: Self-created templates with variables and categories
  • Categories & Providers: User-defined organizational structure
  • Usage Counter: Template usage frequency for frecency sorting
  • App Settings: Display preferences and hotkey configuration
  • Purchase Status: Acquired prompt packs (via Apple StoreKit)

Data that is NOT collected:

  • No user accounts or registration
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No crash reports to external servers
  • No device information
  • No location data
  • No usage statistics shared with third parties
  • No advertising IDs

2. Where is Data Stored?

Primary: Local Storage

  • data.json: All prompt templates and categories
  • data.backup.json: Automatic backup when corruption is detected
  • UserDefaults: App settings and onboarding status

Optional: iCloud

  • Synchronization between your own devices
  • Stays within your personal Apple ID
  • User can enable/disable
  • 3-second debouncing for efficient synchronization

3. Permissions

Requested Permissions:

  1. Accessibility (macOS): For the global hotkey (Option+Space) for quick access

NO other permissions

  • No camera access
  • No microphone access
  • No network access (except StoreKit and iCloud)
  • No location access

4. Data Transmission

Only Apple Services:

  • App Store/StoreKit: For in-app purchases (prompt packs)
  • iCloud: Only when enabled by the user
  • No external tracking or analytics
  • No data shared with third parties
