Balane Content Planner plans posts for social channels from the first idea to the results. A calendar shows the week and the month, next to an idea list and a post list. Each post belongs to a channel and has text, media, a status and versions for other channels or languages. Brands with a style guide, content pillars and a weekly plan provide the structure, and a check flags what's still missing before you post. The app reminds you of scheduled posts. Publishing is up to you: share the media and copy the fields, then paste them into the channel. You enter metrics or import them as CSV and review them. AI features are optional and use your own API key. All data is stored as readable files in one folder; if the folder is in iCloud Drive, iCloud syncs it between devices. No account is required. For Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows. Balane Office is a project that shows how far an office suite can be taken with AI-assisted development. The apps are free and fully usable.

One plan for every channel

Balane Content Planner is for people and teams who publish regularly across several channels. It keeps ideas, scheduled posts and results in one place, for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, X, Pinterest, newsletters, blogs and podcasts.

Calendar and weekly plan

The calendar shows the week and the month, a board sorts posts by status, and the profile grid shows a channel the way it will look. A weekly plan sets fixed slots with day, time, channel and content pillar; “Fill Plan” drops in matching ideas and repeatable posts. You drag ideas onto a day or a free slot.

Posts

Each post has text, media, a status, a date and a checklist, plus versions for other channels and languages that remember their original. A character counter knows each platform's limits. The readiness check flags what's missing before you post, such as an ad disclosure or a required notice.

Brands and style guides

For each brand you set languages, time zone, a style guide and design guidelines. The app also checks spelling conventions per language variant, such as Swiss quotation marks and number formats.

You do the publishing

The app isn't connected to any platform account. To post, you open the post, share the media and copy each field into the channel. Beforehand, the app reminds you of scheduled posts.

Metrics

You enter metrics per post or import them as CSV. The overview shows followers per channel, views by content pillar and format, engagement rate and how your pillars compare with your targets.

Data as files

A workspace is a folder of readable files. If it's in iCloud Drive, iCloud syncs it between Mac, iPhone and iPad.

AI only when you switch it on

With your own Anthropic API key, the AI fills in sections, rephrases, shortens to a channel's limit, suggests hashtags according to your rules and fills the weekly plan with ideas. Every change is a suggestion with a before and after. Without a key, the route via copied prompts remains, which you paste into a tool of your choice.

How much does Balane Content Planner cost?

Nothing. Balane Content Planner is free and fully usable, with no subscription and no in-app purchases.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-in and no Balane account. You open the app and start.

Where is my data stored?

In a folder of your choice, as readable files. If the folder is in iCloud Drive, iCloud syncs it between your devices; otherwise it stays on the device. Nothing goes to Balane.

Does the app post to my channels itself?

No. The app isn't connected to any Instagram, LinkedIn or other platform account. It prepares the post; you share the media, copy the fields and publish in the channel yourself.

Do I have to use the AI?

No. The AI features stay off until you add your own Anthropic API key in the settings. Requests then go directly from your device to Anthropic (or to an Anthropic-compatible service you enter yourself), containing only what the app puts together for that request, and are billed to your key. Nothing the AI suggests is applied until you accept it. Without a key, the app is fully usable.
